Italy has scrapped its yearly licence fee for anyone wishing to use CB and PMR 446 radios on the country’s roads. The change will save drivers around 12 euros.
Traditionally, January 31st has been the deadline for paying for a licence to use a CB radio. However, this year truckers need not worry as the fee has been scrapped. Legislation passed last summer saw the fee removed, saving drivers 12 euros.
In addition, drivers need no longer register their CB radio with the authorities in Italy, which naturally will save a lot of time and hassle.
Back in November, Germany also gave CB radios a stay of execution by allowing the devices to be used until the end on June. They were expected to be phased out in July 2020, but the deadline was twice extended.
