Truck bans in Europe this June

Many countries in the European Union will be celebrating Corpus Christi in June, so there will be traffic restrictions for HGVs.

In the coming month of June, as some European countries prepare to observe Corpus Christi on Thursday the 8th, Italy will have its own public holiday to mark.

Meanwhile, Austria will be among the first countries to implement truck bans at the start of June, coinciding with the celebration of a public holiday in Croatia later in the month.

2 June (Friday, Italian Republic Day)

Austria – from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Driving bans will apply only on the A12 (Inntal motorway) and A13 (Brenner motorway) for heavy goods vehicles travelling to Italy or countries on the route to Italy.

Italy – from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The ban applies to lorries weighing 7.5 tonnes or more.

7 June (Wednesday, the day before Corpus Christi)

Croatia – from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Restrictions apply to lorries and convoys over 7.5 tonnes and lorries and vehicles with trailers over 14 metres in length,

Poland – from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The restriction applies to vehicles over 12 tonnes.

8 June (Thursday, Corpus Christi)

Austria – from 0.00 to 22.00,

Croatia – from 14.00 to 23.00

Germany – from 0.00 to 22.00. The ban applies to trucks with a total weight of more than 7.5 tonnes and trucks with trailers. The restriction only applies in the following states: Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland,

Luxembourg – from 0.00 to 21.45, vehicles with or without trailers over 7.5 tonnes are prohibited. Applies only to lorries travelling to Germany,

Poland – from 08:00 to 22:00.

21 June (Wednesday)

Croatia – from 15.00 to 23.00.

22 June (Thursday, Anti-Fascism Day)

Croatia – from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.

24 June (Saturday)

Croatia – from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m.

25 June (Sunday, Croatian State Day)

Croatia from noon to 11 p.m.

Summer HGV driving bans in Poland

From 23 June to 27 August, there will be summer traffic restrictions for lorries in Poland. Lorries over 12 tonnes are not allowed on Polish roads during the following periods:

– on Fridays from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m,

– on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m,

– on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
