The international aviation organization IATA presented the list of the top 100 air freight forwarders in 2019. Kuehne + Nagel took first place, followed by DSV and DHL Global Forwarding.
In the ranking, IATA presents the top 100 freight forwarders in the field of air freight in Schiphol every year. Kuehne + Nagel took first place: with an export volume of 95,000 tonnes, the company was able to secure a big head start. DSV (57,813 tons) came second, mainly due to the acquisition of Panalpina. DHL Global Forwarding (32,436) is in third place. Rhenus and UPS were also in the top 10.
Nieuwsbladtransport points out that almost half of the freight forwarders had registered a drop in the top 50 exports in 2019. The losses ranged from a quarter percent to a few percent. For some time now, another trend has been visible in the IATA ranking: more and more Chinese companies got on the list.
Two new companies were also added to the list: Top Cargo (23rd place) and VandN Worldwide (29th place).
