There are restrictions on lorry traffic in many regions of Europe ahead of Easter and over the holidays. Here is a calendar of the upcoming Easter bans:
28 March (Maundy Thursday)
Hungary – from 22:00 to 24:00. The traffic ban applies to heavy goods vehicles over 7.5 tonnes.
29 March (Good Friday)
Croatia – from 15:00 to 23:00. Restrictions apply for heavy goods vehicles and convoys with a gross vehicle weight of more than 7.5 tonnes, as well as trucks and vehicles with trailers longer than 14 metres.
Czech Republic – from 13:00 to 22:00, heavy goods vehicles and convoys over 7.5 tonnes are banned.
Germany – from 00:00 to 22:00. The restriction of traffic applies to heavy goods vehicles over 7.5 tonnes and trucks with trailers.
Hungary – from 00:00 to 22:00.
Italy – from 14:00 to 22:00. Restrictions apply for trucks over 7.5 tonnes.
Luxembourg – from 00:00 to 21:45 towards Germany. The traffic ban applies to vehicles with a dmc over 7.5 tonnes with or without trailers.
Slovakia – from 00:00 to 22:00. During this period, trucks with a gross vehicle weight of more than 7.5 tonnes and trucks with a gross vehicle weight of more than 3.5 tonnes with a trailer or semi-trailer are not allowed on Slovak roads.
Slovenia – from 14:00 to 22:00. The restriction applies to heavy goods vehicles and vehicle combinations with a dmc over 7.5 tonnes.
Switzerland – from 00:00 to 24:00. Restrictions in Switzerland apply to trucks with a dmc over 3.5 tonnes.
30 March (Easter Saturday)
Croatia – from 15:00 to 23:00.
France – from 22:00 to 24:00. French restrictions apply to lorries and combinations of vehicles over 7.5 tonnes.
Hungary – from 22:22 to 24:00.
Italy – from 09:00 to 16:00.
Luxembourg – from 21:30 to 24:00 towards France and from 23:30 to 24:00 towards Germany.
Poland – from 18:00 to 22:00. Restrictions apply for vehicles over 12 tonnes.
31 March (Easter Sunday)
Croatia – from 14:00 to 23:00.
Czech Republic – from 13:00 to 22:00.
France – from 00:00 to 24:00.
Germany – from 00:00 to 22:00.
Hungary – from 00:00 to 24:00.
Italy – from 09:00 to 22:00.
Liechtenstein – from 00:00 to 24:00.
Luxembourg – from 00:00 to 21:45 towards France and from 23:30 to 24:00 towards Germany.
Poland – from 08:00 to 22:00.
Slovakia – from 00:00 to 22:00.
Slovenia – from 08:00 to 22:00.
Switzerland – from 00:00 to 24:00.
1 April (Easter Monday)
Austria – from 00:00 to 22:00. Austrian restrictions apply to tractors with trailers with a tractor or trailer dmc over 3.5 tonnes, lorries, articulated vehicles, or self-propelled industrial machinery with a dmc over 7.5 tonnes.
Croatia – from 14:00 to 23:00.
Czech Republic – from 13:00 to 22:00.
France – from 00:00 to 22:00.
Germany – from 00:00 to 22:00.
Hungary – from 00:00 to 22:00.
Italy – from 09:00 to 22:00.
Liechtenstein – from 00:00 to 24:00.
Luxembourg – from 00:00 to 21:45.
Poland – from 08:00 to 22:00.
Slovakia – from 00:00 to 22:00.
