On 30 December, CGT called for “complete blocking” of the refinery in France. The action will start today and will last for several days. If fuel stations run out of fuel, drivers may have trouble refuelling.

The blockades of all refineries in France are expected to start today and lasts until 10 January – according to local media reports. The action planned for this week is a continuation of protests against the pension reform.

We call for action against all refineries in France, from 7 to 10 January, to be sure that no product will leave the refineries for 96 hours, “CGT representative Thierry Defresne announced. “It will be a complete block,” he added.

At the end of the strike hours, the union will decide whether the blockades will be extended.

There are seven refineries in France, and two of them (in Grandpuits – Seine-et-Marne and in Châteauneuf-les-Martigues – Bouches-du-Rhône) have been blocked since last week.

Drivers should have potential difficulties in mind and, if possible, reduce the necessity of refuelling in France.
