The Euro Contrôle Route EGTC aims to strengthen international cooperation in road traffic control and improve road safety. The organisation has 7 founding member countries: Poland, Croatia, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany and Luxembourg. In 2024, Poland will take over the presidency of the ECR EGTC, with the Netherlands serving as vice-president.
The creation of the ECR EGTC is a major advance in the coordination of road transport activities at a European level, explains the General Inspectorate of Road Transport in a press release.
The creation of the ECR EGTC will allow, among other things:

- improved efficiency of operations – through joint initiatives in the area of road safety and increased effectiveness of implemented projects;
- developing competitive advantages – based on training activities and the exchange of information, experience and best practice;
- improving communication and coordination – as a coordination platform, it will facilitate cooperation between authorities responsible for road safety.
