In addition to the regular weekend (Saturday and Sunday) restrictions, a number of countries will also impose holiday traffic bans for heavy goods vehicles. Below is a summary of the upcoming restrictions.
31 October (Friday)
Croatia – 15:00–23:00
Applies to vehicle combinations exceeding a gross vehicle weight of 7.5 tonnes and vehicles with trailers up to 14 metres long.
France – 22:00–24:00
Applies to lorries with a gross vehicle weight over 7.5 tonnes.
Luxembourg – 23:00–24:00 towards Germany, and 21:30–24:00 towards France.
Applies to vehicles over 7.5 tonnes, with or without a trailer.
Germany, Reformation Day: 00:00–22:00
Applies to lorries over 7.5 tonnes and to vehicles with trailers regardless of weight, but only in the following federal states:
Brandenburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein and Thuringia.
In Lower Saxony, the ban is shorter and applies from 06:00 to 22:00.
Poland – 18:00–22:00
Applies to lorries with a gross vehicle weight over 12 tonnes.
Slovenia – 08:00–22:00
Applies to lorries and vehicle combinations exceeding a gross vehicle weight of 7.5 tonnes.
1 November (Saturday) – All Saints’ Day
Austria – 00:00–22:00
Applies to tractors with trailers where either vehicle exceeds 3.5 tonnes, as well as to lorries, articulated vehicles and self-propelled industrial machines over 7.5 tonnes.
Croatia – 14:00–23:00
France – 00:00–24:00
Luxembourg – 00:00–21:45 and 23:30–24:00 towards Germany.
Germany – 00:00–22:00 in Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, and 06:00–22:00 in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Poland – 08:00–22:00
Slovakia – 00:00–22:00. Applies to lorries with a gross vehicle weight of 3.5 tonnes and above, and to those towing trailers or semi-trailers.
Slovenia – 08:00–22:00
Hungary – 00:00–22:00
Italy – 09:00–22:00. Applies to lorries with a gross vehicle weight over 7.5 tonnes.
10 November (Monday)
France – 00:00–24:00
Luxembourg – 21:30–24:00 towards France.
