As of 1 of July 2017 not having the Crit’Air vignette will result in a fine depending on the type of vehicle. Truck drivers will pay up to 375 euro.
Last year Paris introduced the ecology vignette Crit’Air which is available in 6 categories and colours, depending on the date of the registration of the vehicle, energy efficiency and the amount of exhausted fumes.
Right now there is a transitional period in the Paris zone, in which drivers are not fined for entry without the vignette.
From 1 July 2017 drivers will have to pay fines which are as follows:
- 68 euros for passenger cars and all other vehicles (a “penalty – category 3” violation)
- 135 euros for heavy goods vehicles and buses (a “penalty – category 4” violation)
If the fine is not paid right away or within 45 days, the “penalty – category 3” is increased to the amount of 180 euros and the “penalty – category 4” to 375 euros.
On 1 July this year Paris will introduce a ban on entry into the Paris eco-zone for vehicles marked with category 5. In the case of trucks it will be valid from Monday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
