The new trucks are fitted with advanced safety features, including the Active Brake Assist 5 system, which utilises radar and camera technology to enable automatic emergency braking. Additional safety enhancements include tyre pressure monitoring and predictive powertrain management, which adjusts driving performance based on the terrain.
The design of the 2.5-metre-wide BigSpace cab prioritises driver comfort on long journeys, featuring an ergonomic layout with intelligently arranged storage spaces and state-of-the-art technology. Fuel efficiency is also improved through the integration of MirrorCam technology and the latest generation OM471 engine, which together can reduce fuel consumption—and therefore CO₂ emissions—by up to 4%.
Highlighting the long-standing partnership between the two companies, José Esteban Conesa, President of Grupo Primafrio, said:
“Our relationship with Daimler Truck is key to the sustainable growth of our fleet, as it allows us to incorporate advanced technological solutions that guarantee greater productivity, respect for the environment and, above all, the safety and well-being of our drivers. This joint commitment reflects our commitment to a more efficient and responsible operation.”
Antonio García-Patiño, President of Daimler Truck Spain, added:
“The excellent fuel efficiency and performance of the new Mercedes-Benz Actros 1851 LS acquired by Primafrío confirms our commitment to offering vehicles that meet the highest demands of the transport sector.”
Mercedes-Benz Trucks now accounts for 30% of the Primafrio Group fleet, a relationship that has evolved since the 1970s. Alongside the fleet upgrade, drivers have undergone specialised training in Efficiency and Safety, combining classroom instruction with practical demonstrations, to ensure they can fully utilise the new features of the Actros 1851 LS trucks.
