The positions are available nationwide and include temporary assignments, fixed-term and permanent contracts, as well as CDII (permanent temporary) contracts. The most sought-after qualifications are for heavy and super-heavy goods vehicle drivers, with roles spanning courier services, refrigerated transport, construction, waste collection, and hazardous materials handling.

According to the company, no prior experience or specific transport qualifications are required to apply. Anyone over the age of 18 holding a category B driving licence can undertake the training needed to qualify as a professional driver. The training programme lasts approximately three months and includes both practical and theoretical elements, leading to one of three professional qualifications:

  • Driver-deliverer of goods by rigid vehicle
  • Driver of all goods transport vehicles
  • Passenger transport vehicle driver

“In 2024, we trained nearly 1,000 heavy and super-heavy goods vehicle drivers,” said Mylèna Thullier, transport and logistics representative at Randstad Group. “We provided them with a full training pathway, including the HGV licence, mandatory initial qualification (FIMO), and tachograph card. We now also offer additional modules covering alternative energy vehicles such as electric and hydrogen, as well as AI-based driver assistance systems and environmental regulations.”

Randstad states that its training programmes are developed in cooperation with specialist training partners and aim to respond to the evolving skill requirements of the sector. The company highlights stable and long-term career prospects within the transport and logistics industry, despite well-documented challenges such as workforce ageing, low new entrant rates, and ongoing regulatory and technological changes.
