A lorry driver and his employer have been fined after their truck was seized in Poland due to unauthorized tuning. The vehicle had been fitted with a retro steering wheel and additional orange and blue lights. According to a police statement, the changes were deemed as “unauthorized structural changes to the vehicle”.

The mods were discovered on June 23rd, when Polish traffic officers stopped a Czech DAF tractor unit with a semi-trailer for a routine inspection.

As a result of the inspection, the officers found unauthorized structural changes to the vehicle. These changes included the installation of a non-approved steering wheel and extra orange and red lights behind the windscreen.

Also, the windscreen was cracked.

Due to the irregularities found, the inspectors withheld the registration document of the vehicle and the lorry was secured until the irregularities were fixed.

The driver was fined and administrative proceedings were initiated against the employer.
