In adherence to the agreement made in September 2023, the relevant authorities have officially approved Schmitz Cargobull AG’s 49% investment in Berger Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH.

Schmitz Cargobull AG’s Chief Sales Officer, Boris Billich, commented on the strategic benefits of the collaboration.

“Customers can now purchase the specialist lightweight BERGERecotrail vehicles through their Schmitz Cargobull contact partners. Transport firms will benefit from a greater range of vehicles and an extensive package of services for both product lines. This is hugely advantageous for our customers.”

Roland Schneider, Managing Director Sales at Berger Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH, emphasised the demand for BERGERecotrail semi-trailers due to their high payloads. Schneider underscored the increasing relevance of lightweight trailers for transport firms in optimizing payload and enhancing sustainability.

The collaboration allows customers to access BERGERecotrail vehicles through Schmitz Cargobull’s Europe-wide sales and service network.

Berger Fahrzeugtechnik’s expertise in premium lightweight vehicles, particularly BERGERecotrail, is now integrated into Schmitz Cargobull’s sales channels. The lightweight trailers, produced at the Radfeld factory in Tyrol, are now available to customers through Schmitz Cargobull’s Europe-wide sales network.
