Ultra-fast growing digital freight forwarder sennder has announced the appointment of Jared Winder as Vice President – Carriers.

Winder will work in sennder’s Amsterdam office and has been tasked with developing the company’s digital carrier network, which aims to offer small and medium-sized trucking companies access to loads, preferable routes and fast payment terms.

sennder say Winder’s appointment is indicative of its enduring commitment to its carriers and is the latest example of its investment in the digitalization of European road freight.

In a statement, sennder said that Winder’s ten years’ experience in supply chain logistics, including six years at Uber, will bring the company a wealth of logistics expertise. Winder will also work closely with sennder’s Chief Operating Officer Tom Christenson to further build-out the operations team.

Commenting on the recruitment, Christenson cited Winder’s track record at Uber as helping to bolster the team’s operations.

“I am delighted to welcome Jared to sennder. Winder’s track record in supply chain operations at Uber will bolster our already-strong cohort of logistics specialists. As we continue to make the logistics industry fit for a sustainable future, Jared will empower and grow our network of small and medium-sized trucking companies, giving them greater access to loads at more favorable terms.”

Last week, sennder co-founder told Trans.INFO that the company is eyeing more acquisitions, new markets, and a strategic partner. You can read the interview in full here.
