Despite the restrictions on hotels and other accommodation in Spain due to the coronavirus pandemic, the local authorities decided to make some of the rooms available to employees of key industries. These also include truck drivers.

According to the decision of the Spanish Ministry of Transport, some accommodation facilities are to remain open during the state of emergency in Spain. However, they will not be available to the public but are intended to serve truck drivers and other key workers of the crisis. In addition to drivers, these include healthcare professionals, port and airport employees, security services, etc.

In total, 371 places are open throughout Spain (13 in Madrid, 13 in Barcelona and 33 in Toledo). A list of accommodations can be found on the website of the Spanish official journal Boletín Oficial del Estado in the annexe to the regulation (in Spanish „anexo”).
