The Spanish General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) has suspended traffic bans for the next two holidays.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the DGT has decided to introduce an exception to the truck ban during the coming holidays.

According to the Spanish association of carriers CETM, the Directorate has lifted the restrictions on the traffic of trucks over 7.5 t as well as vehicles requiring an additional permit and special vehicles. The relaxation of the ban applies from Friday 4 December to Tuesday 8 December (Spain celebrates Constitution Day on 6 December and Immaculate Conception Day on 8 December).

The relaxation, as CETM points out, does not apply to Catalonia and the Basque Country, which are not under the DGT jurisdiction. In addition, the traffic bans on the transport of dangerous goods will also remain in force on the aforementioned dates.
