Between 20 November and 4 December 2025, Stena Line will suspend sailings on the Fishguard–Rosslare route. During this period, hauliers booked with Stena Line will be redirected to the Pembroke–Rosslare service, operated under a temporary capacity-sharing agreement with Irish Ferries.
The arrangement ensures that freight traffic between Ireland and Wales can continue while Stena Line vessels undergo essential dry-docking and Fishguard Port receives planned maintenance. According to the company, the collaboration is designed to safeguard service reliability and minimise disruption for freight and passenger customers.
Under the temporary model:
- Stena Line customers will travel via Pembroke–Rosslare, assisted by Stena Line personnel at Pembroke Port.
- Irish Ferries customers will continue to use the Dublin–Holyhead route, which Stena Line will operate during the same period, with capacity reserved for Irish Ferries traffic.
Johan Edelman, Trade Director for Irish Sea South at Stena Line, said the operational swap “safeguards continuity of service for our freight and travel customers during essential maintenance and upgrades to our vessels” and “strengthens the resilience of our operations across the Irish Sea.”
Hauliers are advised to check booking confirmations for updated departure details and allow extra time for port procedures, as Pembroke and Rosslare terminals may experience heavier traffic while both operators share facilities.
Bookings and customer updates are available directly via the Stena Line website.
