For around 100 days, Tailwind Intermodal’s Panther Shuttle service has been operating five to ten times per week, connecting the Port of Koper with the cargo terminal in Graz. Following the newly announced timetable change, the Lidl subsidiary will increase its services to two daily trips, offering 10 to 12 weekly round trips. The updated timetable came into effect yesterday, December 15th.

“With the timetable change, we will be offering our customers up to two daily departures to Koper. This will ensure maximum flexibility for our customers,” said Tailwind Intermodal Managing Director Christian Steindl.

The operator, however, plans to expand further. A new connection to Upper Austria and additional staff increases are planned for next year.

“We have had a successful, dynamic start. With a stable, high-quality rail system, we have now laid the foundation on which we will further expand hinterland traffic and frequencies for our customers,” emphasised Steindl.

According to company statements, Tailwind Intermodal primarily transports high-value goods imported into Europe, which have tight delivery deadlines, as well as export goods destined for Asia. These include raw materials for industry, such as parts for mechanical engineering, wood, fibres, and paper.

Tailwind Shipping Lines (TSL), the discounter’s own shipping company founded in April 2022, handles non-food goods transported from Asia to Europe and serves Mediterranean ports, including Barcelona and Koper.
