The newest freight ferry – a RoRo -, which joined the DFDS fleet at the end of January, can accommodate up to 450 trailers – according to the news announced by the Danish ferry company. The megaship is 33 meters wide and 237.4 meters long, which makes it the largest ship in the area. The first journeys are going to start in March.

The ferry is equipped with a unique ramp system, with three independent aft ramps and internal ramps on each side of the ship. The unloading and loading of trucks will be faster and more efficient, thanks to which drivers will spend much less time in the port.

DFDS ordered six of these ferries. The ships are built in the Chinese Jinling shipyard. The first of these is currently on the way to Turkey. As the company emphasizes, „to meet the growing demand of logistics companies for a bigger capacity to transport goods between Turkey and the European Union”.
