A hydrogen-powered hybrid truck is a vehicle on which Toyota and Hino Motors are working. The vehicle is to have a range of up to 600 km and, most importantly, enable the Japanese giants to fulfil their commitments to the environment.

For now, the details of the vehicle are veiled in mystery. We know that works are underway to make the truck as light as possible. This will allow it to be adapted, among other things, to carry two hydrogen engines. Similar to the ones Toyota Mirai was recently equipped with. The whole vehicle is to weigh 25 tons.

The focus on creating a zero-emission truck by Toyota and its subsidiary Hino Motors is not surprising. Both companies have announced that they want to reduce CO2 emissions in their vehicles by 90% by 2050. It is supposed to be a response to the expectations of, among others, Japanese society. In this country, trucks are responsible for as much as 60% of the total harmful carbon dioxide emissions from commercial vehicles.
