The implementation of the Greater Manchester Clean Air Zone scheme, which was to enter into force at the end of May, has been delayed. A revised plan should be submitted by July, announced the Department for Environment on Friday. Danish ferry operator Scandlines has ordered an emission-free freight ferry from Turkish manufacturer Cemre Shipyard. The vessel, which can transport lorries on both the upper and lower decks, can be operated in two modes: either in the emission-free or the hybrid version. It is going to start operation in 2024.
