Between 11 and 25 August, the Monte Galletto tunnel on the A7 near Genoa, Italy, is closed due to ‘urgent maintenance’. This entails a number of changes in traffic on this important route between Milan and Genoa.

The tunnel, located just outside the junction of the A7 and the A12, is to be completely closed, according to the Italian media, citing the decision of the Autostrade per l’Italia, the operator of the motorway. During this time, the work is to be carried out 24/7.

When planning a ride via the A7, it is worth checking the situation on the roads in this area. To this end, we recommend the website, where the traffic volume is presented, among other things. Nevertheless, the Italian authorities state that they have deliberately chosen this timeframe because of the lower volume of traffic, especially for heavy goods vehicles.
