After a year-long break, HGV driving restrictions have again entered into force in Italy.

Italy first suspended lorry driving bans in March 2020 due to the coronavirus crisis, and it has extended the relaxations ever since. However, the Italian government has now come to a decision that there is no need to relax the traffic bans for heavy goods vehicles any longer.

The „normal” truck bans are in force again this weekend, reports road transport association Transport and Logistics Netherlands (Transport en Logistiek Nederland – TLN).

Weekend lorry driving bans in Italy apply every Sunday from 9:00 to 22:00 in May and June. Additionally, lorries are also not allowed to travel on Saturdays in July and August, from 8:00 to 16:00.

Driving bans also apply on national holidays.
