XPO logistics secures FMCG transport deal with DCS group

XPO Logistics has entered a logistics partnership with UK-based distributor and manufacturer DCS Group, which supplies well-known consumer brands, including Colgate, Pampers, and Fairy. Under the agreement, XPO will provide full truckload and groupage services across the UK, with a focus on enhancing transport efficiency and sustainability.

The partnership includes the introduction of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) as an alternative fuel, a move that aligns with DCS Group’s sustainability strategy. XPO’s AI-driven route planning and CO2 dashboard will also be deployed to optimize transport operations and reduce emissions.

DCS Group, a key supplier of household, health, and beauty products, distributes goods from brands such as Lemsip, Calpol, Nurofen, Andrex, and Pedigree. The company said XPO’s experience in FMCG transport solutions and IT-driven logistics services played a role in its selection as a logistics partner.

Dan Myers, Managing Director for XPO Logistics in the UK and Ireland, said the company will work closely with DCS Group to improve its supply chain operations.

“DCS Group is a major player in household, health, and beauty products, and we will bring our logistics expertise to support their evolving needs,” he stated.

Carl Palmer, Chief Operations Officer at DCS Group, highlighted XPO’s capabilities in the FMCG sector.

“XPO has a strong reputation for providing transport solutions that create new opportunities for companies like ours,” Palmer said.

XPO Logistics operates a range of supply chain services across Europe, including full-truckload, less-than-truckload, pallet distribution, dedicated delivery, last-mile delivery, global freight forwarding, and warehousing.

The partnership comes as logistics providers increasingly invest in low-carbon transport solutions amid rising sustainability pressures from regulators and corporate clients. Several major logistics companies, including DHL and DB Schenker, have expanded their use of alternative fuels and AI-driven transport planning to cut emissions and improve efficiency.
