A newly developed mobile app from Hungarian logistics and road haulage company Waberer’s aims to encourage drivers to drive in an environmentally and economically conscious way.

The app analyses the driver’s driving style and provides specific, personalised advice to help them use fuel more efficiently.

According to the company, the app will initially be launched in the international transport segment and will be extended to domestic transport in the second half of the year.

The application assesses several aspects: it monitors the use of cruise control, freewheeling and effective braking.

Drivers are given scores based on their performance and receive daily, weekly and monthly analyses to track their progress. Perhaps the biggest incentive for drivers to use the app is the fuel-saving bonus they receive.

“The application is very detailed, you can’t explain it better, I like the look of it, it’s transparent, easy to use, I will use it in the future,” said Wabrerer’s driver János Nagy, who was quoted in a press release.

Not only does it contribute to the continuous improvement of the driving style, but it also indirectly reduces the emissions of the Waberer’s Group by reducing fuel consumption, so this initiative also promotes environmentally conscious operation, the company added.
