According to Ewals Cargo Care, the acquisition is intended to strengthen its position in the European transport market by combining Ewals’ multimodal full-truckload network with Vos Transport Group’s expertise in part-load, LTL and groupage transport.

Vos Transport Group ( not be confused with Vos Logistics, the Oss-based Dutch logistics company acquired earlier this year by France’s Jacky Perrenot) has operated for more than 75 years and provides transport services across Europe. Its network covers the Benelux, Germany, Scandinavia, Great Britain and France, with activities including automotive, FMCG, food, general cargo, packaging, retail, industrial goods and ADR transport.

Ewals says Vos Transport Group will continue to operate as a dedicated business unit within Ewals Cargo Care and will become part of the company’s Part Loads division. The companies say this should provide continuity for employees, customers and partners while allowing gradual integration.

The acquisition adds further scale to Ewals’ European network at a time when many transport and logistics operators are looking to strengthen cross-border capacity, improve network density and combine road services with multimodal options.

Ewals Cargo Care said both companies would continue investing in trucks, trailers, cross-docks and alternative-fuel vehicles, including electric and hydrogen trucks. The company also referred to the development of new multimodal corridors and the use of longer vehicle combinations where permitted.

The transaction is still subject to approval by the relevant competition authorities, and the companies have not disclosed the financial terms.
