This achievement highlights the manufacturer’s ongoing commitment to providing cost-effective and sustainable transport solutions. TÜV SÜD, following comparative tests conducted for Iveco on equivalent models of the current S-Way and its predecessor from the 2022 model year (MY2022), confirmed a fuel consumption reduction of up to 10.54 percent.
These tests, conducted on the same route and by the same drivers, verified the fuel efficiency of the S-Way MY24, underscoring its excellent performance in the heavy truck segment.
“The confirmation received from TÜV SÜD is an important milestone that reinforces our commitment to delivering real benefits to our customers. When we launched the new Iveco S-Way in November 2023, along with the entire 2024 model year range, we promised high performance and significant fuel savings. This endorsement from a globally recognised third party proves that we deliver on our promises,” commented Luca Sra, Head of Trucks at Iveco Group.
The exceptional fuel efficiency of the Iveco S-Way is attributed to its state-of-the-art driveline technologies, powered by the advanced XCURSOR 13 engine from FPT Industrial—an Iveco Group brand specialising in the design, production, and sale of low-impact powertrains. The entire driveline has been optimised for fuel efficiency and reduced CO₂ emissions, complemented by enhanced aerodynamics, an improved powertrain, and the new generation of HiCruise predictive driving.
The test vehicle was equipped with the new High-Performance Engine Brake (HPEB), which combines reduced weight with high braking efficiency as an alternative to a conventional hydraulic retarder, further lowering fuel consumption. Additionally, the new long 2.17 rear axle ratio and the second-generation HiCruise system—incorporating roundabouts, junctions, and stop signs into its driving strategy—contribute to improved driving comfort and fuel economy.
By integrating these advanced technologies, the S-Way MY24 delivers significant fuel savings, reduces emissions, and optimises performance, providing customers with lower operating costs and a reduced environmental impact.
