Shortly after the truck bans on New Year’s Day, many countries will have the other traffic ban on Epiphany.
6 January is an important Christian festival; however, it is not a public holiday in many countries. Yet, there are some countries where a truck ban applies in the coming days. Check out on which day in which country you cannot drive.
3 January, Friday
Croatia – from 15 to 23. Prohibition in connection with Monday Epiphany. Croatian restrictions include heavy goods vehicles and sets with GVW over 7.5 t, trucks and vehicles with trailers exceeding 14 m in length.
6 January, Monday – Epiphany
Austria – from 0:00 to 22:00. Tractors with trailers with a GVW of over 3.5 tonnes, trucks, articulated vehicles or self-propelled industrial machines with a GVW above 7.5 tonnes are forbidden.
Croatia – from 14 to 23.
Liechtenstein – from 0:00 to 24. At the time of the ban, heavy goods vehicles with GVW over 3.5 t, as well as sets with GVW over 5 t may not drive around the country.
Slovakia – from 0:00 to 22. The restriction covers heavy goods vehicles with a GVW over 7.5 t, as well as heavy goods vehicles with a GVW over 3.5 t with a trailer or semi-trailer.
Italy – from 9 to 22. The ban applies to heavy goods vehicles and vehicle combinations with GVW greater than 7.5 t.
