LeShuttle Freight has launched a new digital tool designed to provide truck drivers with real-time journey updates and customs information when using the Channel Tunnel service.

The LeShuttle Freight Driver Companion web app offers users live travel updates, estimated departure and arrival times, terminal traffic status, and service frequency. It also includes weather and traffic information once the journey has begun, and provides customs status data to help drivers prepare for clearance procedures upon arrival.

According to LeShuttle, the app can be accessed via driver.leshuttlefreight.com and is available in six languages. Drivers can save it to their mobile devices and receive customised information by entering their vehicle registration number.

In addition to the operational functions, the app builds on LeShuttle Freight’s previous Driver Info platform and includes extra features such as competitions, duty-free offers, and event updates at LeShuttle Freight Village.

The launch coincides with Driver Week, a week-long programme of activities taking place between 22 and 28 October at LeShuttle Freight Village in Coquelles. The initiative focuses on driver wellbeing and includes free health checks and other activities for visiting drivers.

LeShuttle Freight Village, located near Calais, provides facilities for freight drivers including food services, showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, and rest areas. Earlier this year, it received gold certification from ESPORG, recognising its safety and security standards.

LeShuttle Freight transported around 1.2 million trucks in 2024 between Folkestone and Calais, operating up to six departures per hour. Each 800-metre shuttle can carry up to 32 trucks for the 35-minute Channel crossing.
