The trailer for action-thriller The Ice Road, which stars Liam Neeson as a lorry driver who crosses the dangerous ice roads of Canada, has just dropped.
During the two-and-a-half minute trailer, American lorries are seen speeding across the ice roads of Canada in a bid to rescue miners trapped underground. When Liam Neeson says, “This is personal… I am angry now”, you can guess what follows.
The plot of the snow rescue thriller revolves around the collapse of a remote diamond mine in the far north of Canada. Neeson’s character is put in charge of a seemingly impossible rescue mission that will require trucks to cross precarious ice roads that are slowly but surely thawing.
Besides Neeson, the movie features Benjamin Walker, Amber Midthunder, Marcus Thomas, and Laurence Fishburne. The film was written and directed by Jonathan Hensleigh, who is best known for writing Jumanji and Armageddon.
Netflix will be streaming the film on June 25th in the US. However, the situation is different in the UK, where it is expected to be released in the cinemas in the third quarter of 2021. In addition, the movie will be available on streaming platforms in Portugal and the Netherlands on June 25th. Details regarding the release in other European countries is not available at the time of writing.
Neeson has already been seen driving big lorries in the cold on the big screen in the 2019 movie Cold Pursuit. Fans of the actor will no doubt be keen to see him do similar in this adventure.
