More than 40,000 employees in Austrian forwarding and storage companies are said to benefit from the increase.

In the negotiations between the freight forwarding and logistics association of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (Wirtschaftskammer Österreich -WKÖ) and the trade union, the partners agreed on an increase of 3.3% in collective wages, allowances and apprentice income.

“By supplying the economy and the population, the employees make a major contribution to overcoming the Corona crisis,” said Karl Delfs, Federal Secretary of the Vida Department of Roads. “That also had to be reflected in the salary adjustments this year.”

The agreement is in force for a year from April 1st 2022.

The union was also happy to announce that full and part-time employees and apprentices will receive a tax-free pandemic bonus of up to 150 euros this year.
