Latvian fleet management provider Mapon has acquired 100% of the shares of the Irish telematics company Envirokind Limited, which operates under the Fleet DATA brand. The move marks Mapon’s entry into the Irish market and further strengthens its position in Western Europe.

Both companies specialise in fleet management, GPS tracking, safety cameras, and digital tachograph solutions. By acquiring Fleet DATA, Mapon will expand its customer base in Ireland and add local expertise to its European operations.

Fleet DATA, founded in Galway in 2012, will continue operating under its existing brand, with founder and managing director Stephen Connell now leading Mapon’s Irish branch.

“This transaction marks an exciting new chapter in Fleet DATA’s development. Joining the Mapon team will allow us to accelerate growth and further expand our team here in Ireland,” Connell said.

Mapon CEO Davis Siksnans said the company’s previous acquisitions in Estonia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, and Denmark have proven the effectiveness of its growth strategy.

“Fleet DATA has thirteen years of experience in the industry, so integrating their clients – and most importantly, their expertise and know-how – will be extremely valuable for our joint future success in the Irish market,” he commented.

Mapon, part of Draugiem Group, is one of Northern Europe’s leading fleet management and asset tracking solution providers, serving over 31,000 clients. The company employs more than 200 people across offices in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Spain, with partners in Europe, the U.S., Latin America, Australia, and Africa.

Mapon’s turnover reached €19.7 million in 2024.

Backed by Baltic investment

In early 2024, Mapon raised €3 million through the Nasdaq Baltic market to finance acquisitions, attracting both private and institutional investors.

Latvia’s Ambassador to Ireland Juris Štālmeistars welcomed the transaction, describing it as an example of “growing two-way investment between Latvia and Ireland and increasingly close cooperation in the field of technology.”
