The Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKÖ) confirms that LNG- and CNG-powered mono-fuel trucks are not subject to a traffic ban in Tyrol.

According to WKÖ, after consulting the Tyrol authorities, CNG- and LNG-powered mono fuel trucks are exempt from all time and local restrictions under the IG-L (Immissionsschutzgesetz-Luft) Act, i.e. from the restrictions laid down in the sectoral traffic ban, the driving ban on the lowest Euro class vehicles (in Tirol, the driving ban on trucks with GVW over 7.5 t of Euro class 0, 1 and 2) and night bans.

According to the trade association Fachverbandes Güterbeförderung, this exception should also apply to bans under the above-mentioned law in other regions of Austria.

This exemption does not cover bans on driving heavy goods vehicles under the Traffic Act (Straßenverkehrsordnung (StVO)).
