Under the agreement, GXO has taken over two existing warehouses in Bleiswijk with a combined space of over 30,000 square metres. The facilities house more than 15,000 stock-keeping units (SKUs) and serve Toolstation’s growing customer base across the region.
As part of the transition, over 100 Toolstation employees will join GXO at the Bleiswijk sites. The logistics provider will introduce technologies such as handheld scanners and an automated carton builder to streamline operations and reduce delivery times.
The decision to outsource comes at a key moment in Toolstation’s development in the Benelux market. “We chose GXO as our logistics partner because this is the moment in our business growth cycle to focus on our core activities,” said Darrin Murray, Managing Director of Toolstation Benelux.
GXO currently manages logistics operations for home improvement and DIY brands across 43 sites in nine European countries, covering services such as omnichannel fulfilment, returns handling and big and bulky goods logistics.
Toolstation is one of the fastest growing suppliers of building tools and materials in Europe, serving both professional customers and experienced DIYers.
