Two important tunnels will be closed on Monday

On Monday, 14 October, the Mont Blanc tunnel will be closed for maintenance. Drivers will also not be able to drive through Vlaketunnel on the A58 in the Dutch province of Zealand.

On Monday, maintenance will be carried out in the Mont Blanc tunnel on the Italian-French border, which is why it will be impassable in both directions from 22 to 6 am the next day – informs the facility manager GEIE TMB. 

Also on Monday evening, at 8 pm, work begins at the Dutch Vlaketunnel on the A58 motorway in the east of the country. The tunnel will be unavailable for traffic in both directions for three days (Monday, 14 October, Tuesday, 15 October and Wednesday, 16 October, from 8 in the evening to 6 in the morning. Traffic, according to local media, will be redirected to route N289. Yellow signs will mark the detours. Rijkswaterstaat (Dutch Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management) warns of difficulties in the region.
