Eurovignette is an electronic toll collection system in several countries. From 1 January 1995 it is used on a network of motorways and some national roads in Denmark, Luxembourg and Sweden. The payments are charged on the basis of the EU Directive 1999/62 and relate to vehicles with GVW over 12 tons.

Eurovignettes were introduced on 1 January 1995 in the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium and Germany. In the last two countries they were in force until toll was introduced (until 2016 in Belgium and 2003 in Germany). In October 2008 paper vignettes were replaced with electronic ones.

In contrast to the German Toll Collect and the Belgian Viapass which charge a toll based on the length of the route travelled, Eurovignette is a toll collection system the amount of which depends on time. The toll is paid, unlike in Germany or Belgium, before the trip.
Vehicles covered by fees

Fees include all vehicles with GVW over 12 tonnes (excluding buses) which use highways and expressways in Demark, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Sweden.

How and where to buy the Eurovignette?

The vignettes can be purchased in the traditional way at petrol stations, border check points and in over 500 dedicated service points of AGES – Eurovignette operator. You can pay for it with your fuel or fleet card (DKV, ENI/Agip, Esso, euroShell, eurotoll sas, EUROTRAFIC, Eurowag, LogPay, Multi Service Tolls, OMV, PLOSE, Ressa, Statoil, TOTAL, TSI Global Star, UTA), as well as the Mastercard or VISA credit card.

From October 2008. the vignette can also be purchased via the Internet. This can be done at: https://www.eurovignettes.eu without the need for registration or directly via selected fuel card issuer, for example. DKV Euro Service.

The vignette can be purchased for a period ranging from one day to one year. In the system you need to enter details such as: registration number, country of registration, emission class, number of axles and the period of use. In addition, you need to select the validity period of the vignette. The vignette price depends on the class of the axle, truck emission and, obviously, the period for which it is purchased. You can calculate the price here: https://www.ages.de/en/eurovignette-cost-calculator.html

After buying the vignette, the vehicle it covers is entered into the system database for a given time. The driver does not need any paper proof of purchase or stickers on the windshield, e.g. during an inspection.

Answers to the frequently asked questions about the eurovignette purchase can be found on the official website.
