The French solidarity food truck network are offering hot meals for truck drivers this week again. On Thursday, all of the scheme’s participating food trucks are offering their meals for free, on the other days, with subsidised prices. Here you can learn where to find one of these trucks and what’s on the menu this week.
The French motorway service operator VINCI is showing its appreciation of lorry drivers and other professionals working on the roads during the coronavirus crisis by providing hot take-away meals at the end of the day.
In addition, the chain are giving away hygiene product kits complete with shower gel, a shaving kit, toothbrush, a small towel and a sachet of lavender in some of its service stations. Regularly cleaned and disinfected sanitary facilities and showers are also available to drivers at a number of rest stops.
Here is the list of motorway services that have a food truck on site today:
A7 motorway
- Aire de Saint Rambert Ouest (direction Lyon> Marseille)
Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 18:00. to 21:00
Menu: ½ pizza + drink + coffee – 2 euros on Tuesday and Wednesday, free on Thursday - The Morières area, on the A7 motorway, offers hot dishes prepared by a farmer from the „Direct from our farms” group. Dishes can be collected from the lockers of the farmer’s drive-way of the commercial facility
A8 motorway
- Aire de l’Arc
Hours: Monday and Thursday from 18:00. to 20:00
Menu: hot dish + dessert + drink – Free - Aire de Reyran
Hours: Monday and Thursday from 18:00. to 20:00 - Menu: Vegetable ravioli with porcini mushroom sauce or Gnocchi with bolognese sauce or Focaccia salami, mozzarella, artichoke + dessert (chocolate pear cake) + bottle of water – Free
A9 motorway
- Lunel secure truck parking (accessible in both directions from the Lunel interchange)
Hours: Thursday from 17:00 to 19:30 p.m.
Menu: tagine of chicken confit with lemon, semolina, tropezienne tart – Free - Narbonne Vinassan Sud
