P&O Ferries’ Travel Wallet app to help hauliers cross post-Brexit borders

P&O Ferries has launched its Travel Wallet app to help hauliers navigate the pre-journey process between the EU and the UK, as well as make checking-in at ports as simple as possible. Apart from reducing the stress for drivers when crossing the border, the app is said to reduce general waiting times and delays as well.

The Travel Wallet has been created to help customers identify which documents are required for each movement based on the route and the cargo being shipped.

According to P&O Ferries, the new, free-of-charge tool is hoped to reduce check-in times and queues at ports significantly, estimating that it could reduce check-in times by up to 50%.

“The new border regulations add complexity, time and cost to all areas of the process, but they are here to stay and will become business-as-usual over time” – explained Peter Hebblethwaite, Chief Executive of P&O Ferries.

Freight customers can use the app to verify the documents and then save the digital paperwork in the tool, generating one barcode that can be used by drivers at check-in, removing any language barriers and allowing drivers to simply scan and go.
