The Truck Parking Deventer facility, which has long accommodated over 100 trucks, now meets all European requirements following recent upgrades.

The renovations include enhanced facilities for resting drivers, such as TV, internet access, spacious sanitary amenities, and 24/7 safety monitoring from a private control room. These improvements aim to provide a comfortable and secure environment for truck drivers during their mandatory rest periods.

The province of Overijssel has contributed to the project, emphasizing the importance of good and safe facilities for truck drivers in the logistics sector.

Business Park A1 in Deventer, a leading and sustainable business park in the Netherlands, now features this hypermodern, safe, and comfortable truck park. This facility aligns with the recent development of a hydrogen filling station at the park, serving both national and international trucks.

Despite the positive developments in Deventer, Transport and Logistics Netherlands (TLN) stressed the ongoing shortage of truck parking spaces in the country. A recent study for the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management estimated a deficit of approximately 4,400 spaces. TLN warned that the shortage is likely to worsen due to the growing transport and logistics sector and the disappearance of existing parking facilities.
