Traffic bans for trucks in March

Mainly Saturday and Sunday restrictions, but also national holidays celebrated in Liechtenstein and Hungary will be the cause of forced stopovers for truckers.

Saturdays 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 March:

Austria – from 3 pm to 12 am.

In Inntalautobahn (A12) and Brennerautobahn (A13), there is an additional ban which is in force from 7 am to 3 pm. The restrictions apply to tractors with trailers above 3.5 tonnes; lorries; articulated vehicles or self-propelled industrial machines with a DMC above 7.5 tonnes.

France – from 10 pm to 12 am, in the Rhône – Alpes region from 7 am to 6 pm. Prohibitions include lorries and vehicle combinations with a DMC above 7.5 tonnes, except for special vehicles and agricultural vehicles.

Luxembourg – from 9:30 pm to 12 am in the direction of France. From 11:30 pm to 12 am in the direction of Germany. Prohibitions apply to heavy goods vehicles with or without a trailer exceeding 7.5 tonnes.

Hungary from 10 pm to 12 am. The prohibitions apply to lorries, agricultural tractors with trailers with a DMC above 7.5 tons.

Sunday 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 March:

Austria – from 0:00 am to 10 pm,

Czech Republic – from 1 pm to 10 pm. Prohibitions apply to lorries and vehicle combinations with a DMC above 7.5 tons.

France – from 0:00 am to 10 pm,

Liechtenstein – from 0:00 am to 12 am. In Liechtenstein, the restrictions on driving apply to heavy goods vehicles with a DMC of over 3.5 tonnes and for sets with a DMC above 5 tonnes.

Luxembourg – from 0:00 am to 9:45 pm,

Germany – from 0:00 to 10 pm. Prohibitions include lorries with a DMC above 7.5 t and lorries with trailers.

Slovakia – from 0:00 am to 10 pm. Restrictions apply to heavy goods vehicles with a DMC of more than 7.5 t and heavy goods vehicles with a DMC of over 3.5 t with a trailer or semi-trailer,

Slovenia – from 8 am to 9 pm. The prohibitions are valid for vehicles with DMC above 7.5 tons,

Switzerland – from 0:00 am to 12 am. In these hours, no heavy goods vehicles with a DMC above 3.5 t, articulated vehicles and road trains over 5 tons can drive on the motorways.

Hungary – from 0:00 am to 10 pm.

Italy – from 9 am to 10 pm. Traffic restrictions include heavy goods vehicles with DMC above 7.5 tons.

Public holidays in Hungary and Liechtenstein

Apart from Saturday and Sunday traffic bans,  there will be restrictions related to public holidays in March.

Hungary:

– March 14 (Thursday) from 10 pm to 12 am.

– March 15 (Friday, Revolution Day) from 0:00 am to 10 pm.

Liechtenstein:

– March 19 (Tuesday, St. Joseph’s Day) from 0:00 am to 12 am.
